WHAT SETS US APART

What separates us from other relocation experts is that we have a unique understanding of what you are about to encounter. We have personally moved across country and overseas eight times.  We know what it’s like to move to another city/country and have only a few days to find a place to live, enroll children in school, set up a household and all of the other details.  Make no mistake… it can be daunting!  Having an “advocate” who is experienced at anticipating your needs and concerns is crucial!

“We knew that our return to Virginia would be to our forever home.  After more than 20 years of moving, we knew we didn’t want to find something that would be “fine for now”, only to have to move one more time.  Marye Jo and Greg listened to our wants and desires and helped us find the perfect place we’ve finally planted roots and we are deeply grateful.”

WE UNDERSTAND YOU AND YOUR PROFESSION

You don’t work a 9-5 job…. and neither do we.  We work nights, weekends and throughout different time zones (including Germany and Korea!), tailoring our schedule to meet your needs.   Whether emails, texts or video chats… our technology will match your specific preference.

MOVING IN?

Once the details of your new job have been secured, we will begin the house hunting process for you.  First, we will connect you with banks and loan officers that specialize in Doctor Loan Programs (100% Financincing/0 Down Payment up to $1.5mil).  With a budget set, we will gather information about your likes, dislikes and any special needs you may have, and create a special computer search unique to your profile. Once you have narrowed down the area(s) of your search, we will begin the leg work for you…. visiting each home to personally inspect… sorting out the “chaff” along the way, so that when you actually arrive, we are only showing you the cream of the crop.   Coupled with in-depth knowledge about the property, it’s history, the neighborhood and comps, we will assist you in writing an offer.  As Certified Negotiation Experts we will help negotiate the best price and terms.  Once your Contract is ratified, you can be as involved (or not) as you choose to be.  We will arrange your home inspections, negotiate repairs, coordinate appraisers, termite inspections and of course…. we’ll work closely with your closing attorney to make sure everything moves smoothly.  Rest assured, we will keep you informed at every step, making sure all questions are answered and that you always feel comfortable.

“Marye Jo is a true professional.  Her problem solving is her strong suit, with creativity and honesty. I have been astounded on more than one occasion to personally witness her step in and take control when other agents are at a lost for a solution.  She is generous to a fault. Marye Jo has knowledge and experience – a welcome combination in the real estate profession.”

OUR PROMISE

From transportation when you first arrive at the airport…. to turning on the lights and changing the locks to your new home…. we have a team of professionals to assist you every step of the way.  Just let us know how we can help you best!

“Marye Jo and Greg Hartley are phenomenal to work with.  I travelled to Virginia on a house-hunting trip, and MJ greeted me at the airport and devoted so much time to me while I was in town. She was excellent at showing the pros and cons of each home that we saw, and helped us reach a decision.  After numerous Skype calls we made an offer and signed a contract.  While back overseas, Marye Jo and Greg were in regular communication about the process each step of the way. I returned to Virginia, again on my own, and Greg and Marye Jo continued to help me through the daunting process. They facilitated the special power of attorney with their fantastic closing attorney, and were wonderfully supportive throughout.  Marye Jo and Greg were not just real estate brokers–they became our friends. “

We were out-of-town sellers and decided to list our home with Marye Jo & Greg Hartley. They did so much more than we ever anticipated. Marye Jo’s interior design and mortgage backgrounds added great value to the process. They took care of hiring all the contractors and made sure all work was done according to their high standards, keeping us informed every step of the way. They are the ONLY Realtors we would contact because of their experience, expertise and honesty.

A TRUSTED REFERRAL SOURCE/ REALTOR FOR LIFE

Nothing gives us greater pleasure than to receive a constant flow of referrals from previous clients.  We strive to maintain an excellence in service so when your friends ask…. “Do you have a Realtor to recommend?”, you will always turn to us as your #1 trusted Realtor Source!

“Unparalleled service before, during, and after the sell… or purchase! When we asked Marye Jo and Greg Hartley to sell our first home, we had no idea that you could find a “family Realtor for life” (just like you find a family doctor or attorney). Our stand-alone home in Old Towne Alexandria’s Historic District was a seller’s nightmare. Repairs over the previous 80 years had not been inspected as required and/or were not up to code. Marye Jo walked the property with City officials and compiled and negotiated an explicit list of items to repair and we passed on the subsequent visit a week later. Marye Jo also evaluated our home, and gave us a cafeteria list of improvements to make to allow us to either sell quickly or maximize profit. In fact, we put the project in her hands, to include providing her a budget to design and engage contractors for the renovations. We had a top dollar offer within days of being on the market.”
